During the National Cherry Blossom Festival; which is an annual event held every year in Washington D.C. along the Tidal Basin… I came across the Memorial to Japanese-American Patriotism in World War II located at Louisiana Avenue and D Street, Northwest, Washington D.C.
The National Japanese American Memorial recognizes Japanese Americans war involvement and patriotism during World War II, along with those held in Japanese American internment camps. In the left of the picture just past the waterfall, is the memorial which consists of two Japanese cranes tangled in barbed wire on top of a long pedestal base.
Among the semi-circular landscape of the memorial a long wall of granite curves along the sculpture. In the wall there are inscriptions of World War II battles, the name of the ten internment camps and Japanese Americans who died in the War.
