Manhattan Bridge cityscape view is one of the best in the city when you’re trying to capture both the Brooklyn Bridge and Lower Manhattan at the same time… This location worked out especially well on 9/11/2013 at 7:36pm at the beginning of the Tribute in Light annual ceremony.
From this vantage point, you are able to capture all of the items that make New York City a wonderful place to live and visit. We have Janes’s Carousel in Brooklyn Bridge Park, the iconic Brooklyn Bridge, South Street Sea Port, East River and Manhattan’s financial district all in one view.
Brooklyn Bridge Tribute in Light NYC photo was taken as a 3 exposure bracketed HDR image. I post-processed the image by loading all three images from Lightroom 5 into Photomatix Pro and tweaked the tone mapping sliders to my liking. Once back in Lightroom 5 I used Topaz DeNoise to get rid of any noise left over from the HDR processing. Usually, at this point, I will also use Photoshop CS6 and clean up the sky by using a masking technique, but this image looked pretty good so I skipped that step. Next, I use Topaz Clarity cityscape preset, then moved on to Topaz Adjust 5 to give the photo some more extra pop. I finished everything off by using Topaz Detail.
